Golisano Foundation Challenge Grant

Please help us make $750,000 become $1.5 million!

Now Your Gift to our Independence Together Campaign Will Be Matched!

Independence Together

We are thrilled to announce that The Golisano Foundation, has made a $750,000 challenge grant to the Lifetime Assistance Independence Together Campaign to support the essential transformation of our three largest Day Services Centers at the Lowry Center, Paul Road and Weiland Road. We are so honored to have received this important gift, which is one of the largest grants made in the Golisano Foundation’s 35-year history. The Foundation was founded by businessman and philanthropist Tom Golisano, and has grown to become one of the largest private foundations in the United States devoted to supporting services and programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Foundation’s support for our campaign reinforces the pressing need in our community for the important renovations we need to make to our Day Services Centers. It also validates the vision and the designs we have developed to create model centers that will maximize opportunities for independence, continuing education, socialization, skill development and  community inclusion.

What Does This Mean for You?

The Golisano Challenge grant presents the unique new opportunity to effectively double the impact of your generous giving and help bring us closer to our critical goal.

How the Golisano Challenge Grant Works

The Golisano Foundation will match every dollar in donations up to a total of $750,000 that are:

  • New donations made to Lifetime’s Independence Together Campaign
  • Increased gifts from previous donors to the Campaign

Letter to Lifetime Assistance CEO Jamie Branciforte

“It is clearly evident from your presentation and proposal that Lifetime’s day centers need to be renovated to become more accessible and supportive environments, especially for older adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We applaud the vision and design to include enrichment suites, culinary, music and arts rooms, and an open atrium with a secure courtyard for outdoor activities.  The new spaces will be inviting and flexible providing opportunity for continuing education, skill development, socialization and community inclusion.”
