At Lifetime Assistance, we’re committed to offering individuals with developmental disabilities every possible opportunity for community inclusion and the development of skills necessary for greater independence.
Day Habilitation Services
Day Habilitation provides many opportunities and choices for people with developmental disabilities. We work one-on-one with individuals, their families and other service providers to create the best services possible based on need and choice. This is particularly true as an individual's needs or interests change. Everyone works together to assure the best service model or site is available for every individual.
It is our objective to ensure that every person is treated with respect and dignity - and that each achieves the highest degree of independence and community participation possible.
Over the years, Lifetime Assistance has developed an extensive community volunteer program with over 50 agencies in the Greater Rochester area. Individuals can participate in a variety of opportunities based on his or her interest and skill level. These opportunities, in turn, provide the individuals with meaningful skill-building experiences.
In addition, we work diligently throughout Day Habilitation to maximize the use of community resources such as libraries, health clubs, restaurants, museums and local businesses. Finally, all of our sites have adaptive technology labs, where individuals can participate in computer-based learning.
Day Habilitation is a Medicaid waiver service. Therefore, an individual must be enrolled in the waiver before he or she can attend.
Since 1978, our experienced team of caring staff at Lifetime Assistance has provided intensive services in:
- Self-care
- Speech/Communication
- Learning
- Mobility
- Nursing
- Independent living skills
- Social development
- Recreation
- Emotional-behavioral development
Our interdisciplinary team consists of professionals in each of these areas, as well as highly-trained direct support professionals.
With sites located throughout Monroe County, serving as a “home-base“, individuals spend much of their time in the community engaging in volunteer work and accessing community resources.

Golden Opportunities offers seniors the chance to enjoy retirement, while still providing support and assistance - promoting independence and productivity in the later years.
Individuals enjoy a host of social and recreational services such as:
